Aker Carbon Capture awarded feasibility study for e-fuel project in Finland
Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded an integration feasibility study for an e-fuel project in Finland. The company will investigate fully integrating one of its standardized and modularized Just Catch carbon capture units into the e-fuel process at a waste-to-energy facility. Aker Carbon Capture’s Just Catch unit could capture up to 100,000 tonnes CO2 per year, enabling the initial production of 20 megawatt of e-methane per year.
Aker Carbon Capture awarded FEED for Hafslund Oslo Celsio’s CCS project on their waste-to-energy plant at Klemetsrud in Norway
Aker Carbon Capture, together with Aker Solutions, has been awarded a full FEED by Hafslund Oslo Celsio (Celsio), the largest supplier of district heating in Norway, to develop carbon capture at their waste-to-energy facility at Klemetsrud in Oslo, Norway. Through the FEED, Aker Carbon Capture, Aker Solutions and Celsio have established a framework for an intention to execute an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) contract, subject to contract negotiations and final investment decision (FID).
Aker Carbon Capture awarded feasibility study by MAN Energy Solutions to develop power-to-fuel solution
MAN Energy Solutions has awarded Aker Carbon Capture a feasibility study to develop a joint power-to fuel-solution. The study, which extends Aker Carbon Capture’s partnership with MAN Energy Solutions, investigates the full integration of Aker Carbon Capture’s standardized and modularized Just Catch 100 unit into a full power-to-fuel solution.
Aker Carbon Capture awarded study by TES to capture 400,000 tonnes CO2 per year in Germany
Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a feasibility study by TES, to explore the implementation of a carbon capture plant at a waste-to-energy facility in Germany. The planned capture capacity will be 400,000 tonnes CO2 per year. The captured CO2 will be transported by railcar to the TES facilities at Wilhelmshaven in Northern Germany to produce e-NG, which is electric natural gas derived from green hydrogen and CO2. TES H2 is a global green energy company leading the way in the production of e-NG.
Aker Carbon Capture ASA: Third quarter 2023 results
In the third quarter 2023, Aker Carbon Capture secured a number of strategic pre-FEEDs and engineering studies across Europe and North America. Aker Carbon Capture’s order backlog rose to NOK 3.0 billion, up from NOK 1.5 billion in the same period last year. Revenues rose to NOK 440 million, up 116% compared to the same period last year. The cash position at the end of the quarter was solid at NOK 1.3 billion.

Aker Carbon Capture has signed a pre-FEED contract for a major European power company to implement carbon capture at a portfolio of power plants in mainland Europe. The planned capture capacity could reach up to 14 million tonnes CO2 per year for the applicable sites combined.
Aker Carbon Capture awarded feasibility study by major waste-to-energy player in France
Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a feasibility study to implement carbon capture at a waste-to-energy facility in France. The planned capture capacity will be approximately 200,000 tonnes CO2 per year and will be based on two Just Catch 100 carbon capture units. Year-to-date, Aker Carbon Capture has now contracted studies, Mobile Test Unit campaigns and pre-FEEDs for a combined capture capacity of 8.7 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
Aker Carbon Capture awarded pre-FEED in Sweden covering more than 200,000 tonnes of CO2 per year
Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a pre-FEED (pre-Front End Engineering Design) for a Just Catch application by a Swedish energy company. The award follows an earlier feasibility study contract for another Swedish company, Söderenergi, announced in June, further strengthening Aker Carbon Capture’s position in the growing Swedish market.

In the second quarter 2023, Aker Carbon Capture secured a contract with Ørsted with a total value of more than EUR 200 million, representing the company’s largest order intake to date. Aker Carbon Capture’s order backlog rose to NOK 3.3 billion, up from NOK 1.7 billion the same period last year. Revenues rose to NOK 305 million, up 57% compared to the same period last year. The cash position at the end of the quarter was solid at NOK 1.1 billion.

Aker Carbon Capture awarded study by Söderenergi in Sweden
Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded an integration feasibility study by Söderenergi, one of Sweden’s largest district heating producers, to implement carbon capture at Igelstaverket in Södertälje. Located around 30 km from Stockholm, Igelstaverket is Sweden’s second largest biomass combined heat and power plant (CHP). The planned capture capacity will be around 500,000 tonnes biogenic CO2 per year, which could be transported and permanently sequestered to create negative emissions.

Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a large-scale carbon capture project by Ørsted, a global leader in renewable energy, for its Ørsted Kalundborg Hub in Denmark. As the carbon capture provider, Aker Carbon Capture will deliver five Just Catch units, additional equipment such as liquefaction systems, and temporary CO2 storage and on-/offloading facilities with an expected total contract value above EUR 200 million. The carbon capture facilities will be delivered to Ørsted’s wood chip-fired Asnæs Power Station and the Avedøre Power Station’s straw-fired boiler and combined will have an installed design capture capacity of 500,000 tonnes CO2 per year.

Aker Carbon Capture selected by Viridor as partner on pre-FEED study for Runcorn CCS
Aker Carbon Capture will support Viridor in the provision of a pre-FEED study for the Runcorn CCS project, which is located around 20 km from Liverpool. When in operation, the facility will be one of the first large scale carbon capture projects at an energy-from-waste facility in the world. The pre-FEED study explores the installation of a carbon capture plant in the HyNet cluster, part of the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Track 1 sequencing process, capturing around 1 million tonnes CO2 per annum.
